First Friday: May Preview

On the first Friday of every month, Missoula’s downtown buzzes far beyond the typical hustle and bustle of every day. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., galleries, studios and shops keep their doors open a little later for a night of art, music and community engagement. Our downtown streets and alleyways welcome makers and patrons alike for an evening of celebrating and admiring local craft—and did we mention it is free and open to the public? Participants and activities vary month to month, so each First Friday is a unique experience. As the weather continues to warm up, we’ll take any excuse to linger a little later, and First Friday fits the bill. Join us for an incredible showcase of our thriving arts scene!

Take a leisurely stroll through the heart of Missoula on First Friday and we guarantee you can’t walk more than a block before stumbling upon a gallery, musical performance, poetry reading, you name it! Grab a friend or head out solo—Zootown’s art scene is as social as it is buzzing! Mingle with local and regional artists, makers and performers and get in touch with Missoula’s strong creative vibe.

While the businesses participating in the art walk typically offer libations and canapés, don't hesitate to venture further and discover the full spectrum of flavors that this vibrant city has to offer. A plethora of downtown restaurants and watering holes run specials for attendees, so stop in for a bite and stay for a drink—or two!
